Liquid Facelift Insider Tips

Fillers are not one-size-fits-all.

Fillers come in many types and formulations. Variety is essential for creating natural results from brow to chin. Your forehead, nose, and lips all have dramatically different needs, and having many types of fillers available ensures that each area receives the treatment that is best for optimal results. Choose a provider that understands the unique properties of each filler and how and where to use them to their full potential to achieve natural-looking results.

Cannulas can be used for filler placement.

Cannulas can be used for filler placement, reducing discomfort and improving safety for many patients. Ask your injector if a cannula is a good choice for you.

A plastic surgeon is the ideal choice for your injectable needs.

What Is An Ann Arbor Plastic Surgery Liquid Facelift?

When you think of facial rejuvenation, surgery is probably the first thing to come to mind. Surgery is highly effective at tightening loose skin and smoothing wrinkles, but it isn’t always the right fit. Maybe you’re too busy for downtime or perhaps you’re just starting to notice signs of aging and aren’t ready for a surgical procedure.

A liquid facelift is an alternative to facelift surgery. This procedure uses dermal fillers to add volume and recreate a youthful face shape. Botulinum toxins, like Botox®, may also be used as an adjunct to relax lines and wrinkles around the eyes and brows to enhance your result. By combining fillers and Botox, patients can enjoy a refreshed appearance without the incisions or downtime of a traditional facelift.

Other names for a liquid facelift include non-surgical facelift and lunchtime facelift.

What Happens During a Liquid Facelift in Michigan?

If you’ve ever received a cosmetic injectable treatment at Ann Arbor Plastic Surgery, you already know what to expect from your treatment.

Pre-Treatment Examination

We’ll examine your face, carefully pinpointing treatment areas, choosing the most effective injectables, and deciding how much product is needed.

Topical Anesthetic

A numbing cream is applied to the skin in the area to be injected about 15-30 minutes prior to treatment to reduce any discomfort associated with the procedure.

Injections

You’ll receive a series of injections in various areas of the face to target the main areas of concern and rejuvenate your appearance.
The whole treatment takes about 30 minutes and as soon as we’re done, you can return to your regular daily activities with minimal restrictions. The results of dermal fillers are noticeable instantly. If Botox is also used, its smoothing effect can be seen 7-14 days after treatment.

Non-Surgical Facelift Recovery

One of the biggest benefits of a liquid facelift is its minimal recovery. Most patients are back to life immediately.

Few Activity Restrictions - We ask patients to avoid strenuous exercise for a day. Don’t rub or massage the treated areas. Patients can return to work immediately and can wear makeup to cover redness or bruising after their procedure.

Common Side Effects - Side effects are minimal after this procedure. Patients sometimes report redness, tenderness, and swelling in the treated areas. These side effects are usually minor and resolve on their own in a few days.

Minimal Downtime - No downtime is necessary and most patients don’t take time off work.

Dermal fillers and Botox provide temporary results. If you want to maintain your new look, you’ll need to come in for treatment every few months. We’ll help you create a treatment schedule so you will always look your best.

How Much Does a Liquid Facelift Cost in Ann Arbor, MI?

The cost for this procedure depends on the fillers used, the areas treated, and the amount of product required. We’ll provide a customized estimate during your pre-treatment consultation.

What Injectables Are Used in a Liquid Facelift?

We use a combination of injectable treatments for most liquid facelifts and tailor the treatment for each patient. Commonly used dermal fillers include Juvederm® and Restylane®. We typically use at least one filler and one botulinum toxin, although this can vary depending on patient needs.

How Long Does a Liquid Facelift Take?

Non-surgical facelifts are ideal for busy patients. A typical treatment takes about 30 minutes. Many patients come in on a lunch break and return to work immediately afterward.

Is a Liquid Facelift Painful?

We use injectable products to rejuvenate the face during a non-surgical facelift. We apply numbing cream to reduce the discomfort of the filler injection, but you may feel a small prick with each injection. The fillers we use also contain lidocaine that helps to numb the treated areas during each injection. Overall most patients tolerate their treatment well.

Are Results Natural Looking After a Non-Surgical Facelift?

When this treatment is performed by a skilled injector, results are very natural looking.

Is there anything I can do to make my treatment and recovery better?

Avoid aspirin, NSAIDs, Vitamin E, and other blood-thinning medications (if safe to do so per your physician) for at least 2 weeks prior to your treatment to reduce the risk of bruising. Eating a light snack and hydrating before your appointment may also reduce the chance that you will get light-headed.
