A PowerTuck, offered by our expert surgeons, is a procedure pairing that combines the aesthetic benefits of liposuction with a tummy tuck at his Michigan practice. While each individual procedure is intended to address abdominal contours, one focuses on eliminating excess fat, while the other focuses on eliminating excess skin and tightening muscles.
What Does a Tummy Tuck Address?
A tummy tuck alone addresses the front of the abdomen. Patients who have lost weight via diet and exercise, had children, or have a troublesome mid-section may have excess skin and fat of their abdomen. Excess skin that has been stretched out by the presence of large and numerous fat cells or during pregnancy can protrude and hang down, obscuring a slim physique underneath.
During a tummy tuck, your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon will remove extra skin and fat from the abdomen. The procedure also generally includes tightening of the rectus muscles that may have become separated to create a flat, smooth abdomen. A neoumbilicus, or belly button, is created to restore its shape.
