The newest use of Botox, called Micro Botox, involves injecting very small amounts of botox to achieve a more natural result. This technique was popularized in Singapore with dramatic results. Our Ann Arbor Botox patients want natural results while having their lines softened but not frozen These patients are an ideal application for Micro Botox.

A common complaint from Botox patients is that they want to look natural, have normal facial expressions, and have their wrinkles softened. The small lines above the eyebrows are great candidates for Micro Botox. A very dilute solution of Botox is used which is injected in the skin instead of the muscle. This softens the surface wrinkles while maintaining the use of the forehead muscles. Some lines underneath the eyelids are candidates as well for small doses of Botox.

Micro botox has also had reports of shrinking pore size in the cheeks and some instances helping with rosacea. Using botox outside of the wrinkles between your eyebrows, “the glabella”, is considered an off label use of botox by the FDA. Any use of botox outside this area should be discussed with your plastic surgeon in Michigan.
